f you read my last blog post, you'll know we've had our share of challenges lately. 

In the throes of everything else that's going on, I'm trying to write a new series of songs to loosely accompany the 2020 Come Follow Me curriculum for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I'm calling the series "Another Testament of Jesus Christ."

We take a lot of things for granted. Like breathing. The average person breathes about 20,000 times per day, but they rarely even think about it. Until that ability to breathe is threatened. 

 It’s been a rough month in our family. Two family members have spent a collective 45 days in the hospital -- so far -- and one is fighting an unexpected, uphill battle of his own.

 To begin with, my husband, John, trained this year to ride the Lotoja – a 200 mile bike ride from Logan, Utah to Jackson, Wyoming. He knew it would be a tough ride (60 of the first 100 miles are uphill), but he didn’t know how tough.

 That’s because he didn’t know he was riding it with a collapsed lung...

I'm asking this question today: How important are the videos to you?

This is the background that makes me ask the question: I planned to release this song last Spring, and the recording was finished in May...but then my life got in the way.

Writing, arranging, recording and transcribing a song is a huge project by itself. But if I have to do a video, that's an additional huge project. And often, like with I Will Shine, the video delays the release of a song.

So comment below and tell me -- would you rather have more songs and get them earlier? Or would you rather wait for the video? How important are the videos to you and your family?
