LIGHT THE WORLD
Four weeks to serve. One perfect example. I love this Christmas tradition, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's an effort to remind us to give as Jesus gave, one person at a time.

Share how you're lighting the world by commenting below -- and if you have a picture to send with it, I would love that! (send it separately to shawna(at)shawnaedwardsmusic(dot)com and I'll add it to the blog.) When I see your comment, I'll send you whichever you want -- an mp3 or the sheet music of "He is the Gift."
I'll be sharing how our family is lighting the world in the next few blog posts.

We filled a shoebox with presents for a little boy to send to another country! Would love a copy of the music, such a beautiful song-thank you!
Visiting the sick in the hospital
Every year our family hosts a food drive called “Cup For a Can Cocoa Stand.” We invite everyone in our neighborhood to bring a canned food and in exchange we give them a cup of cocoa. We all gather outside where a Christmas movie is playing. This will be our 4th year doing it at our home after reading about this idea in The Friend magazine. It has brought the community together and teaches our children how to serve others.
An elderly man who let us borrow grapes from him this season is declining in his health. He has a ton of grape vines, so my family and I went over and trimmed them and cleaned the area up for a few hours.
Hi, Shawna. I live in Northeast Brazil, in the city of Joao Pessoa. In my ward we organized a chorus with our Primary children. During Christmas week we will sing in the homes of old people, inactive members, carrying the sweet spirit of this time through the christmas songs. I love your songs, they touch me and bring me closer to the Savior. Thank you for sharing your gift. I would love to recieve a sheet music copy of “He Is The Gift”. I’d like to ask for your permission to translate the song so our children can sing during our visits. Thank you so much!
