There is no end to the things you can write about Christ. And though that gives you unlimited material to work with, it also presents a challenge. How do you narrow it down? I started thinking about the idea for this song -- Because Jesus did [this], I have [this] -- and the lyrics flowed. Until I got to the end: "Because He gave me everything He had to give..." Then what? I had to narrow it down to a specific list, but a really broad, specific list. Broad and specific -- good luck with that! Finally, I came up with five things: I breathe, I see, I hope, I love, I live. As you sing it, I hope you'll recognize that these five things represent a thousand other blessings you and I have. Because of Him.
