This might be my favorite Bible song. It tells the David and Goliath story in a very memorable, engaging way children won’t forget. It’s fun, jazzy, and cute and I hope will become a favorite for many children so they can remember what a great hero David was.

Goliath was a mostly mean
Big and burly Philistine.
He wore armor everywhere
And fighting was his thing.
David was an Israelite,
A shepherd boy who did what's right.
He offered to defend the land
With pebbles and a sling.
On the chosen battle day,
They met on an open plain.
Goliath mocked his enemy
And viewed him with disdain.
David was so small and still,
But fearless, he refused to yield.
For faith was David’s sword that day,
And courage was his shield.
Oh David looked like a giant underdog
But it was really Goliath who didn't have a shot.
Though he came to the battle with a
Spear and a sword.
David came in the name of the Lord.
David spun his sling around,
Boldly fired a rock he’d found.
It sunk into Goliath’s head
And sent him to the ground.
God is with us all our lives.
He will be our constant guide
And nothing is impossible when
God is on our side.
