When I write a song for children, I think about the person who is going to teach it to them. That's because I spent over 20 years as a children's choir director.

I looked for these 3 things in every song I chose:

The children would love it.
The parents would be moved by it (and thankful I chose it).
I could teach it fairly quickly and easily.
