Working on the "Strong" song has been one of the greatest privileges I've had. It wasn't an easy assignment, but I have cherished the opportunity -- especially the opportunity to get to know Sarah Frei, her family, and the group Vocalocity. I will never forget it.

We recorded and filmed "Restored" yesterday. And I can't really describe how awesome it was.
A dozen singers - ages 12 to 55 - singing about their faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. Each one testifying, in their own style, what they know to be true.
I called on singers of different ages, nationalities and walks of life. I told them to bring their own flare to the song. And they did.
It was incredible. THEY were incredible.
I’ve written a song about the restoration.
Ideally, it would have been out before the first of the year. But I don’t write to a schedule. I just write when I get the inspiration. And to be honest, I haven’t had a lot of that lately. ;)
I had the idea for this song in mid December. I set out to write something that isn't just about the first vision, but the impact of the first vision, and the impact of the restoration. What do we know and what do we have because of it? How are our lives different because of it?
As I've written, I've felt an extra responsibility to make it right, and so I didn't want to rush it. Last year, I wrote, recoded and filmed three songs between Thanksgiving and the New Year. But this year is different. And this song is different.
Anyway, here’s the good news:
Writing songs used to be a hobby for me. But it’s turned into much more than that. In fact, if I let it, it could be a 60-hour-a-week job, and there are days when I wonder, “Why am I doing this?!” But I know why.
