We take a lot of things for granted. Like breathing. The average person breathes about 20,000 times per day, but they rarely even think about it. Until that ability to breathe is threatened.

It’s been a rough month in our family. Two family members have spent a collective 45 days in the hospital -- so far -- and one is fighting an unexpected, uphill battle of his own.

To begin with, my husband, John, trained this year to ride the Lotoja – a 200 mile bike ride from Logan, Utah to Jackson, Wyoming. He knew it would be a tough ride (60 of the first 100 miles are uphill), but he didn’t know how tough.

It was my birthday last week. And suddenly, overnight, I was officially old. But my family gave me an incredible gift. They showed up and said, "We're here all day. What do you want to do?" It was amazing.

I'm asking this question today: How important are the videos to you?

This is the background that makes me ask the question: I planned to release this song last Spring, and the recording was finished in May...but then my life got in the way.

Writing, arranging, recording and transcribing a song is a huge project by itself. But if I have to do a video, that's an additional huge project. And often, like with I Will Shine, the video delays the release of a song.

So comment below and tell me -- would you rather have more songs and get them earlier? Or would you rather wait for the video? How important are the videos to you and your family?

First of all, I have some new songs coming out. And I HOPE they will be finished by the end of May. I can't wait to tell you more about them.

But the main reason for this post is to ask for your suggestions. I'm always looking for good ideas for new songs, and I would love to know what you wish I would write about. Leave a comment below and let me know what you're thinking.

Thanks for your help, and have a wonderful day!

But when the third day came, the darkness turned to light

For Mary heard her name and saw the living Christ.

To set the captives free

To ransom you and me

To bind up every broken heart

To conquer death and sin.

To bring us home again.
